I came home to Florida last spring to find my Mother seriously ill. After being in the hospital several times she passed away in September. My life in Florida for the past few years have been about loss after losing my sister Anne and my Father and then my Mom, I decided it was time to move across the country to Nevada and find a new life.
This was not an easy task for a single 62 year old woman, I approached this task like I do every challenge I'm faced with in life, one step at a time.
I came out to Las Vegas in November bought a house, went back to West Palm Beach shipped my car, packed my house, hired a mover and here I am 10 months later settled into a small home in Henderson Nevada.
Home sweet Home |
The feeling that comes with a new place of your own after so much upheaval in the past few years just feels right. They say all great changes are preceded by chaos, so true and I will leave it at that!
The downside of the move was I am very far geographically from my 3 daughters.I'm working on that too!
I spent 10 months on the road in 2014/2015 and while it was a wonderful travel experience, I need a place to come home to. I do live to travel and in the past few years I've traveled extensively. I've been overseas, all over the Caribbean up and down the east coast and most recently out west!
The desert stole my heart so here I am, incredibly hopeful about a fresh start.
Here I am! |
So I am retired, settled in a new home, what's next I ask myself... I realized it's like 115 in the shade here in the summer so I need an exit plan and that includes seeing my daughters!
After some major reflection I decided I would love to get on the road this summer and have my "own" travel adventures! Airplanes don't measure up when it comes to travel in my opinion.
Since my love of RV travel has not been diminished, it's time to find a nice RV to call my own! As you can see from my previous blog posts, life on the road in a roomy metal box just suits me!
I can do this! |
The only new twist will be I am solo and will be doing the driving! So I am looking for the perfect RV and I'm getting close, stay tuned..
Change is inevitable, growth is optional and I say YES to adventure!
Let the New Adventures begin....
